Hey, I’m Beau.

If you’re here because I handed you a card, it means we met somewhere along the way and I enjoyed talking with you.

So, hello again.

I’m a naturally curious person. I like meeting people, hearing their stories, and having conversations that wander into places neither of us expected.

I love writing and spend a lot of time thinking about philosophy, failure, happiness, relationships, technology, and the strange business of figuring out how to live a good life. I’m currently writing a book called Philosophy and Failure, which is largely about what I’ve learned from getting things wrong.

When I’m not writing, I’m usually doing something equally random.

I love technology and have spent most of my life tinkering with computers. I lift weights, walk, read, play video games, paint occasionally, and disappear down whatever rabbit hole has captured my curiosity that week.

I’m a dad, which is one of the most important and enjoyable parts of my life.

I also really enjoy people.

For a long time, I think I underestimated how important simple human connection is. Not networking. Not building an audience. Not figuring out what someone can do for you.

Just meeting another human being and saying hello.

That’s actually why I made the little card that probably brought you here.

Let’s continue the conversation.

If we met and you’d like to talk again, I’d genuinely like to hear from you.

Email me: beaugotro@gmail.com

Or just reply to something I’ve written here on Substack.

You don’t need a reason.

Tell me about something you’re working on. Send me a book recommendation. Tell me something interesting you’ve been thinking about. Invite me for coffee. Ask me a question. Or just say, “Hey, it’s the person you met at ______.”

I’ll know who you are.

No pitch. No networking strategy. Just connection.

I’m glad I said hello.
